Thank you for your interest in making an appointment. The simplest way to do this is to telephone 07624 361254.
Alternatively, you may wish to email secretary@manxdermatology.com.
The practice number is 07624 361254. The telephone is likely to be answered 9am to 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. If there is no answer, and on other days of the week, please leave a message. Please leave your full name including title (Mr, Mrs, Miss etc), email address and mobile phone number, confirm that you are 18 years or older and leave a succinct message. Messages will be checked each day of the working week and our secretary will call you back. If you are unavailable, she will email you.
Consultations:
We are experienced consultants who have been seeing patients insured with all the major insurance companies (BUPA, BUPA International, AVIVA, WPA, Cigna, Healix, Vitality) for decades, most recently in Bath, Somerset. Please seek preauthorisation from your insurance company.
Dr Phillips sees patients insured with AXA. Allergy consultations are not available through AXA.
Procedures:
If you are insured with BUPA, WPA or AVIVA and need a surgical procedure (for example removal of a mole or skin cancer) we can make an appointment for you immediately. If you are insured with any other health insurer, please get in touch with us on 07624 361254 or secretary@manxdermatology.com and we will do our best to advise and help you.
Please provide the following before your appointment:
-
Your full name (including your title - Mr, Mrs, Miss etc), date of birth, home address, home and mobile phone number, email address, and your GP's name and address.
-
Preferred means of communication (email versus post (please do check your junk email folder if you are expecting a response to an enquiry, which will normally be within 24 hours during the working week).
-
The nature of the problem for which the appointment is being made (this helps us to ensure that the appointment is appropriate to your needs).
-
Please advise us if there are any special factors of which we should be aware, including cognitive impairment or deafness in later life.
-
GP referral letter.
-
Insurance company and membership number.
-
Insurance pre-authorisation number (this number is your reassurance that the insurance company will cover the consultation).
-
The value of the policy excess on your insurance.
-
Please advise us if the patient has a complex wound, a genital problem, a very complex medical problem or is very distressed. We can advise as to the most appropriate consultation in each case.
Policy shortfalls:
Some health insurance companies have adjusted their reimbursed fees, so that the fees paid are substantially less than the free market price, and sometimes less than the cost of providing the service. All our costs have risen markedly in recent years. These insurance companies will classify us as non-fee assured, and you may have a balance to pay, in addition to your policy excess. Please check with your insurance company and be aware that the full cost of your consultation may not be covered by your insurer.
Payments:
You will be asked to pay the policy excess on the day of your consultation. If there is in addition a balance fee to pay, and the amount is known, this payment is also required on the day of your consultation. Where any balance fee is not yet known, payment needs to be made once you receive this information from your insurer.
