Laboratory tests such as a skin swab for bacteria, or scrapings to look for fungus, are in addition (uncommon)

Skin surgery to remove a skin lesion or to biopsy an area on the skin is always booked for a future date after the first consultation. 

Prices:

• Excision of a skin lesion with sutures:   £1,120

• Shave excision of a skin lesion:              £900

• Biopsy of a skin lesion:                            £900

Skin surgery prices include:

• the fee of the dermatology consultant

• facility costs (rent, secretarial and nursing time, instruments, medicines, clinical waste, utilities, etc)

• the laboratory fee and the consultant histopathologist's fee
